TireTake Back Day - Saturday May 31, 2025 - 8 am - Noon

Following a very successful Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day event, the Bradley County Justice Center will now host a second May event for residents to dispose of unwanted materials.

Tire Take Back Day is scheduled for Saturday, May 31, beginning at 8 a.m.

Bradley County residents will be able to bring up to eight tires to the event, where they will be placed in containers provided by Waste Connections of Cleveland, and eventually recycled.

The event is sponsored by Bradley County, with assistance from the Bradley County Sheriff’s Department, Cleveland and Bradley County Stormwater Divisions, and Keep Cleveland and Bradley County Beautiful.

It is anticipated to be the first of two Tire Take Back Days in 2025. Last year, as similar events, more than 900 tires were collected — 395 at the May event and 544 in October. The amount collected in October was believed to be a record for this Bradley County event.

Tires need to be standard size or smaller, and cleaned before dropping them off, which means mud and dirt need to be removed. Rims and/or wheels also need to be removed from those tires.

No commercial drop-offs will be accepted, and participants need to be driving vehicles with valid Bradley County tags.

Tire Take Back Day will continue until noon. Entrance and direction signs will be in place at the event, and drivers are urged to approach the justice center on Blythe Avenue from Bower Lane, in front of The Caring Place, rather than from 20th Street to avoid congestion.
